Our Story

Born on the Water. Woven with Legacy.

My name is Alfred Taylor. I’m a solo sailor aboard a 27-foot Ericson and the grandson of the late artist Al Sprague.

In the 1980s, my grandpa (known fondly as "Pa") bought a sinking trawler and spent two years bringing her back to life. In 1983, along the banks of the Panama Canal, my mom officially christened that restored vessel Pasha. Growing up on stories of those adventures, I knew I wanted to create lasting maritime memories of my own—so when I bought my boat, I named her Pasha in honor of his legacy.

The idea for Pasha’s Perch came during a family vacation to Hawaii. Sitting with my mom, I pitched an idea: What if we brought Pa's artwork to life on high-quality Hawaiian shirts?

Pa is no longer with us, but his spirit lives on through every line, doodle, and brushstroke. Pasha’s Perch exists to share his art, illustrations, and adventuring spirit with the world.

Thank you for being here and joining us in celebrating Al Sprague—an artist, father, friend, and our beloved Pa.
