Al Sprague Designs Transformed into Tropical Essentials

Our Story ...

My name is Alfred Braden Taylor. I am a solo sailor on a 27-foot Ericson named Pasha and the grandson of artist Al Sprague, who I simply call "Pa".

In 1981, my grandpa bought a sinking trawler and spent two years fixing her up. In the summer of 1983, on the banks of the Panama Canal, my mom christened that boat as "Pasha". For three wonderful years the Pasha provided opportunities of fishing, diving, and island hopping fun for family and friends in the Pacific waters of Panama.

Today my family continues to talk about their days on the Pasha, which led to naming my sailboat the Pasha and creating Pasha's Perch.

We lost my grandpa on May 1, 2025. Although he may be gone, his artistic spirit lives on forever. Through his exquisite illustrations of tropical fish and fauna, Pasha's Perch is a tribute to his passion and love and a continuation of his legacy. Join us on a journey through his doodles, illustrations, and fine art. Each piece tells a story of a man, an artist, a friend, a father, and of my hero - my Pa.
